You can heal wounded cards, but it randomizes which ones get healed. except that the AI doesn't care if it loses and you're left with an ever more crippled deck. It sounds interesting in theory, but the current gameplay just has you feeling terrible for using your best cards - the whole combat system is based on trading your units for enemy units and coming out on top. It's also got this weird thing going where your 'cards' are 'living units' and can permanently die. The 'equipment' and card variety is very disappointing in Nowhere Prophet- the current content feels barebones at best and you're stuck with a pile of mildly different effects and stat lines. In Nowhere Prophet you're putting in more effort for less rewarding gameplay. Nowhere Prophet follows a more classic card battle model, which is tempo-based (priority on building up and sustaining value advantage on board) which is not only a more complicated system, but also one that ends up being strategically shallower than Slay the Spire.
